What does Forward Development actually do?
We do the hard e-commerce work — Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce, migrations to Medusa.js or Vendure — plus enterprise Next.js/TypeScript builds, WordPress (classic, headless, custom plugins), and AI/automation layered on top of real systems. We are not a brochure-website shop.
Who will actually be working on our project?
Wade Onuffer, a full-stack and e-commerce developer building on this stack since 2006, leads every engagement directly — bringing in specialists as the scope requires rather than routing you through account layers.
Do you only work with local Pittsburgh businesses?
We are Pittsburgh-rooted (South Hills / Peters Township), but most work is remote-friendly and we take clients anywhere.
How does pricing work — fixed bid, hourly, or retainer?
It depends on scope. We audit and plan before quoting anything, so you get a number based on your actual codebase and goals, not a guess off a website contact form.
We don't know which platform is right for us — can you help us decide?
Yes — that is often the first conversation. Whether it is staying on Magento 2, migrating to Medusa.js or Vendure, or building custom in Next.js, we will tell you plainly what fits and what doesn't.
Do you take over projects other developers started, or only build from scratch?
Most of our work starts on something someone else built — a Magento store, a WordPress site, a half-finished migration. We audit what exists before touching anything.
What happens after launch — do you disappear?
No. Ongoing support, upgrade cadence, monitoring, and a queue for feature work are part of how we work, sized to the project.
